Prices are taken from our salon menu (October 2026). “From” means the lowest price on the menu; the final price depends on the designer, hair length and condition. Your designer confirms the final price before work starts.

What bleach does

Hair gets its color from natural pigment. Bleach breaks that pigment down so the hair becomes lighter. It does not add color. A tone or a fashion shade is applied afterward, on the lighter base.

Dark brown and black hair usually passes through orange and yellow stages on the way to pale blonde. Where your hair stops depends on how dark it started and how much lightening it can take safely. Your designer decides that point, not the photo you bring.

When you need bleach and when you do not

  • You probably need it for pale blonde, silver, pastel or bright fashion shades on dark hair.
  • You may not need it for a darker shade, a similar shade or a small change in warmth.
  • It is a bad fit if your hair already breaks easily. The designer may suggest repair first.

If you only want to blend a few lighter strands, read about balayage and highlights. They lighten selected sections rather than the whole head.

Prepare your hair history

Bleach reacts with whatever is already in your hair, so history matters more than for most services. Tell the designer about:

  • Past bleach, color, henna or home dye, with dates.
  • Perms, straightening or keratin work.
  • Black or very dark dye, which can resist lifting and lift unevenly.
  • Dryness, split ends or a gummy feel when the hair is wet.

Come with clean hair that has not just been scrubbed hard. Do not try a strand test yourself the night before.

Bring a plan for the day too. Bleach is rarely a quick visit, and the lightening is only the first half when a tone or color follows. A charged phone for your reference photos and a snack save time. Ask about the price of the follow-up color when you ask about the bleach.

How the process usually goes

The exact steps are the designer’s to explain. In general, bleach is mixed, applied in sections, checked as it lifts, rinsed, and often followed by a toner or color. Designers usually start away from the scalp and add the roots later, because the scalp area lifts faster.

The menu does not state how long a bleach visit takes, and the time varies with length and starting color. Leave a flexible block of your day, and ask the designer for an estimate once they have seen your hair.

After you bleach

Lightened hair is more porous. It dries out sooner and loses tone faster. General advice:

  • Use a gentle shampoo and a conditioner made for treated hair.
  • Keep hot tools low and use heat protection.
  • Expect yellow tones to return over time, and ask about toning.

Dry ends can be helped with the salon’s damaged hair repair. A second round for a very pale result is covered on the double bleach page.

Planning around the stairs

The salon is in Room 251, 2F Sejong World Plaza Building B, 71 m from Jangsan Station Exit 5. There is no elevator to the second floor, so a long bleach visit with a heavy bag means carrying it upstairs. Open hours are daily 10:00–20:00. See the hair color services page for the other options. Check a route planner for your own starting point, since the salon is in the Jangsan area.
