Prices are taken from our salon menu (October 2026). “From” means the lowest price on the menu; the final price depends on the designer, hair length and condition. Your designer confirms the final price before work starts.
What layers actually do
A layered cut leaves different sections of hair at different lengths. The top and mid sections are shorter than the underside, so hair moves more and sits lighter. The effect depends on where the layers start and how much shorter they are.
- Long layers: start below the chin. They keep length and add soft movement.
- Mid layers: start around the cheekbones. They add shape near the face.
- Short layers: start high on the head. They add lift but need styling to look tidy.
Tell the designer which of these you want. A photo of the layers from the side and back is more useful than the word “layered”.
The Signature layered cut
The menu lists a Signature layered cut at ₩28,000 on Saemi’s price sheet. We do not have a longer description of how it differs from other cuts, so ask Saemi what it includes and how the layers will be shaped for your hair. The price is for the cut itself and the designer confirms the final amount before starting.
If you also want a perm with layers, the menu has a separate Signature layered perm. See the Korean perm page for how perms are priced.
Who layers suit, and who should think twice
Layers often help in these cases:
- Long hair that feels heavy or looks flat at the crown.
- Straight hair that lacks movement.
- Hair you plan to curl or perm, because shorter sections curl more easily.
Think twice if your ends are already thin or damaged. Cutting layers into thin hair can make the ends look sparse. Very fine hair may look better with fewer, longer layers. If your hair is thick, the thick hair cut page explains weight removal in more detail.

How to prepare
Decide how much length you can lose. Layers always cost some length at the top, and the shortest layer sets the limit. Say the shortest length you accept in centimeters.
Bring photos with the exact layers you like, and one photo of how your hair looks when you style it yourself. Mention if you wear your hair tied back most days. Short layers can fall out of a ponytail.
Styling and upkeep
Layers sit well when the ends are blown in the direction the designer shows you. A round brush or a hair dryer with a cool-air finish is usually enough. Without styling, layers can look uneven as they grow out.
Wash day matters too. Layers dry faster than one-length hair, so a short blow-dry is often enough. If you let them air-dry, a small amount of light styling product on the ends can keep them from looking frizzy.
A refresh every eight to twelve weeks is typical for long layers, but this is a general figure. The designer can tell you what your hair needs.
