What updo styling covers
Updo is a general name for styles that lift the hair off the neck. Common versions are a low bun, a high bun, a twist, a braided style and a half-up style where part of the hair stays down. A stylist usually prepares the hair with a dryer or iron, then pins and sprays it so it holds.
Which techniques and tools are used at WENEED Haeundae is for your designer to explain. We do not state a duration, so plan extra time on an event day.
Choosing a style
- Low bun or low twist: neat and quiet, suits longer hair and formal clothes.
- High bun: shows the neck and face, easier on hot days.
- Half-up: keeps length visible and suits shoulder-length hair.
- Braided styles: need enough length and some texture.
Think about your outfit. A high neckline, earrings or a veil change which style looks balanced.
Bring references and details
An updo is easy to misunderstand in words, so photos matter most:
- Bring photos from front, side and back if you can.
- Show the neckline and any accessory you will wear.
- Tell the designer your hair length in centimeters, and whether it is thick, fine or slippery.
- Say how long you need the style to last and how you will travel.
Price
Updo styling is not on the printed WENEED menu, so we print no amount. Length, thickness and the complexity of the style all change the quote. The designer confirms it before starting. Published prices are on the price list.
Preparing your hair
Slightly textured hair holds pins better than very clean, slippery hair. Many stylists like hair washed the day before. Ask the designer whether to arrive with clean or day-old hair. Avoid conditioner-heavy routines the night before, and bring a few hair ties and pins if you have a favorite type. Tell the designer if you plan to change clothes after, since pulling a top over a finished style can disturb it.
If the hair is very flat, a blowout first can add the body an updo needs.
Using it for events
Updos are common for weddings, formal dinners and photo sessions. See the guide for photo shoot and wedding guests for planning ideas. Allow time between the salon and the event, because the stairs, the route and the weather can affect your hair. A fine mist of hairspray before you step outside helps in humid weather.
