Reviews are useful, but they are one person’s experience on one day. Here is a practical way to read them:

• Look for detail, not praise. A review that names the service, the price and what was done tells you more than a short comment.
• Check that the hair type matches yours. A result on thin, straight hair says little about thick or bleached hair.
• Read the dates. Prices, staff and menus change.
• Look for how problems were handled. One bad review is less informative than how the salon responded.
• Compare several sources. Do not rely on one map listing or one post.

Signs a review may not help you

• Very short comments with no service named.
• A sudden set of similar comments posted in the same week.
• Photos that show a result but not the starting hair.
• Reviews that mention prices that do not match the salon’s published menu.
