What sun, sea and travel do to hair

Strong sun can dry hair and fade color. Salt water and chlorine can leave hair rough. Long trips add dry cabin air, hard water and little time for care. Most of this is cosmetic dryness, and it improves with gentle care. Bleached or heavily colored hair is more sensitive, so it tends to show damage first.

This guide covers cosmetic care only. For scalp burns, pain or sudden hair loss, see a doctor.

First week: simple steps at home

  1. Rinse early. Rinse sea water and chlorine out as soon as you can after swimming.
  2. Wash gently. Use lukewarm water and a mild shampoo on the scalp.
  3. Condition the lengths. Leave conditioner on for the time on the label.
  4. Use a mask once or twice a week. Moisturizing masks are the usual choice for dry hair.
  5. Reduce heat. Skip the iron for a few days and dry with a lower setting.
  6. Cover up. Use a hat or scarf in strong sun.

Signs your hair needs more than home care

Home care is enough for mild dryness. Consider a salon visit if hair stays rough after several washes, tangles easily when wet, feels stretchy or snaps when you comb it, or if color has turned brassy and dull. These signs suggest the outer layer of the hair is worn, and a designer can look at the strands and say what is realistic. Nobody can reverse damage completely, but care can make hair feel smoother and easier to manage while the damaged lengths grow out or are trimmed.

When a trim helps

Split ends cannot be repaired. They can only be removed. A small trim often makes hair feel healthier at once and keeps the damage from traveling up the strand. Ask the designer how much to remove. A women’s cut at WENEED is ₩25,000 and a men’s cut starts at ₩20,000. See the haircut services.

Salon treatments on the menu

If home care is not enough, ask about a clinic treatment. The WENEED menu lists a basic hair clinic (모발 클리닉 기본) at ₩89,000, a solution clinic (솔루션 클리닉) at ₩100,000, Drama care (드라마 케어) at ₩140,000 and Tiara repair clinic (티아라 복구) at ₩180,000. A scalp clinic (두피 클리닉) is ₩120,000 on Jin’s price sheet. The Nano-bit hair clinic (나노빛 모발 클리닉) price is not confirmed; ask your designer.

Which suits you depends on how damaged the hair is. The designer explains the steps and what to expect. We make no promise about a particular result. See damaged hair repair and the hair clinic page.

Color, bleach and perm after a trip

If your hair is sun-damaged, tell the designer before any chemical service. They may suggest repair first and a perm or color later. A gradual plan is usually safer than doing everything in one visit. Read about bleach and the Korean perm for how chemical services work in general.

What to tell the designer

  • Where you traveled and how much time you spent in sun, sea or pools.
  • Your color, bleach and perm history, with dates.
  • How your hair feels now: dry, rough, tangled, breaking or dull.
  • Your goal: softer, shinier, same color or a change.
  • Whether you have had any scalp irritation or sunburn on the trip.
  • Any products you used on the trip, such as sunscreen sprays or leave-in oils.

The salon is 71 m from Jangsan Station Exit 5 on Line 2, on the 2nd floor by stairs only, open daily 10:00 to 20:00. See how to book.

Frequently asked questions

Can split ends be repaired?

No. They can only be trimmed off. A small trim keeps the damage from spreading up the strand.

How much is a hair clinic treatment at WENEED Haeundae?

The basic hair clinic is ₩89,000. Others range up to ₩180,000, and the designer confirms the price.

Should I treat my hair before or after color?

The designer decides. Weak hair is often treated first, and color comes later.

What helps right after swimming?

Rinse out salt or chlorine as soon as you can, and condition the lengths.

Will a treatment fully repair damage?

We make no such promise. Treatments improve how hair feels and looks, and results depend on the hair’s condition.
