How to book a Korean hair salon in English: a step-by-step guide

The steps in order

1. Choose the service. Cut, perm, color or treatment. Browse the services menu.
2. Check the price. Look at the price list. Remember that some prices vary by designer.
3. Prepare your information. Photos, lengths in centimeters and hair history.
4. Find the booking channel. Salons in Korea use different ways to take bookings, so check what the salon itself lists.
5. Send a clear request. Use the template below.
6. Confirm the details. Date, time, designer, service and price.

What we can and cannot say about WENEED

What is confirmed: the salon is open every day from 10:00 to 20:00, it is 71 m from Jangsan Station Exit 5, and the 2nd floor is reached by stairs only.

A request template in simple English

Keep messages short, with one request per sentence. Copy and fill in this example.

• “Hello. I would like to book a [service] on [date] at [time].”
• “My hair length is [number] cm. I have photos of the style I want.”
• “My hair history: [color/bleach/perm and date].”
• “Please tell me the price and how long it will take.”
• “Is a designer available at that time?”

A short message with a few photos is easy to read and easy to answer. Check the reply for the date, time, designer and price.

What to include so the salon can answer once

• Service and goal. “Perm for soft waves” is better than “perm”.
• Hair history. Bleach, color, perm or straightening in the last year.
• Photos. The target style and your hair now.
• Timing. Your preferred day and an alternative.
• Number of people. If you come with someone else.

Questions to ask before you confirm

• What is the total price, and what could change it?
• How long will the service take?
• Which designer will work on my hair?
• Is there anything I should do or avoid before the visit?
• How do I get in? At WENEED the 2nd floor is stairs only.

Common booking mistakes

• Writing only “haircut”. A salon cannot give a price or time without knowing the length, the style and the hair history.
• Sending photos with no note. Say what you like in each photo: the length, the bangs or the color.
• Booking a long service late in the day. Perms and color can take hours, and the last start time may be earlier than closing time.
• Forgetting the floor. If you use a stroller or have limited mobility, ask about access first.
• Not saving the confirmation. Take a screenshot of the date, time, designer and agreed price, and keep the salon address next to it.

If you need to change the time, tell the salon as early as you can. Being direct and early is the most helpful thing for a designer who plans the day around bookings.
