Why texture needs extra preparation
Salons see a wide range of hair, but a menu rarely says how it treats curls or very thick hair. Curly hair shrinks as it dries and changes shape when cut. Thick hair holds weight that affects how a cut falls and how long a perm or color takes. Telling the designer upfront avoids surprises.
It also helps to know that hair can behave differently from one day to the next. Humidity, season and the last product you used all change how curls and thick hair look. Photos taken on a few different days give the designer a fair picture of what they will be working with.

Prepare before you go
- Photos of your hair as it is. Natural, with no styling, in good light. Also a photo of the result you want.
- Your routine. Do you air dry, diffuse, straighten or use an iron?
- Your hair history. Perms, relaxers, bleach or color, and the dates.
- Your goal. Keep the curl and shape it, reduce volume, or smooth it out.

Smoothing and straightening options
If you want less volume or a smoother line, the menu has a magic straight perm from ₩140,000, with a root magic option at ₩100,000 and a magic + setting option at ₩150,000. Volume magic is ₩180,000. Chemical services on very curly or thick hair often take longer, and the designer confirms the timing and price.
Aftercare differs too. Curly hair usually needs more moisture and less heat, while thick hair can need a good rinse and thorough drying at the roots so it does not stay damp. Ask the designer which products suit your texture, and how often to come back for a trim. If your hair has been bleached or chemically straightened, say so clearly, because the plan for a cut, perm or color may change. A hair clinic treatment is sometimes suggested first when the hair is weakened. The basic hair clinic is ₩89,000 on the menu.
